Spirited bidding for items ranging from a week-long sailing adventure in the British Virgin Islands to a vintage life vest raised a record $28,000 to benefit the Chicago Yacht Club’s Sea Scout Ship Privateer.

Building on our mission to introduce the joys of boating to Chicagoland children, the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation will partner with the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation (JGASF) to present Judd’s Sailing Camp, a new program designed to introduce the sport of sailing to children with physical disabilities.

In early December, the CYC Foundation formally announced the largest annual appeal in the Foundation’s history. The Foundation seeks to raise $200,000 to support its important mission of introducing underserved Chicagoland children to the joys and benefits of being on the water.

The Chicago Yacht Club Foundation hosted the first annual “Meet the Kids Night” at Monroe Station on November 29. “Meet the Kids Night” offered CYC members and friends the opportunity to meet nearly 20 youths that participated in CYC Foundation initiatives this year.
