The boats are appearing in the harbors and our beloved lakefront is beginning to buzz with activity. At your CYC Foundation, we have so many great things happening. This month, we inducted our first class of InSPIRE scholars during our inaugural Donor Appreciation Dinner and Scholarship Awards. Each awardee will receive a monetary award to support their college studies. We also welcomed two new staff members this month. Our Community Sailing Manager, Caroline O’Malley, comes to us from Sail Newport, and will be leading our on-water activities, including more than a half-dozen new sailing camps. We also welcome our first ever Haas Intern, Natalia Yarborough, who will be with us this summer to help with the many activities we have planned and learn about leadership and management of non-profit entities.

I’d like to thank all of you who participated in the annual Bilge Auction, sponsored by the CYC Cruising Sail Fleet. We raised more than $15,000 to benefit the Sea Scout Ship Privateer. Read more in this edition of the Beacon, and stay tuned for more exciting news next month!
