The Chicago Yacht Club Foundation exists to bring the joys and benefits of boating to all, with primary focus on youth from underrepresented communities.
Through our nautical education programs, grants & scholarships, and partnerships, the Chicago Yacht Club foundation produces a robust set of on- and off-the water programs that serve this mission, and provides resources for those in Chicagoland and elsewhere in keeping with our mission.
“It is not just about what is offered, but how it is offered. CYCF’s team time and time again works to make our kids feel like they deserve to be there. They make our kids feel cared for and special. We could not be more grateful for this partnership.”
—Emily Brown, Education and Family Enrichment Manager, One Family Illinois
“In the Beginner 420 class we learned about teamwork, communication, and how to rig the boats. I am now confident in my sailing and can help my friends. Thank you so much for the grant!
—Daniel S., 13
“These types of partnerships and programs are so important. For them to be on a sailboat, and really see what it takes to work the sails—and really understand the STEM behind it—that’s something we wouldn’t be able to provide outside of this partnership.”
—Anabel Hernandez, Union League Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago Program Director
“Securing the InSPIRE Scholarship is a game-changer for me. It represents more than just financial assistance; it’s a gateway to a world of opportunities.”
—Affinitie C., InSPIRE Scholarship recipient
